Upcoming Raids
Guild Rules

Preface

Above all else you read here, Stormfist is a collection of friends that play this game to have fun. While each of us may find joy in different aspects of play, the end result is the same. We gather together under the banner of Stormfist to be with like minded individuals and be a part of a community. In any community you will have differences of opinion and belief. The ability to discuss an issue and not argue is what makes us courtious. The following rules are in place to help us give an even hand to all members of Stormfist. In a perfect world noone would ever need them.

Core Rules of Stormfist

Members of Stormfist are always expected to abide by the rules set forth by the Elder Council / Officers. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action taken by the Elder Council / Officers that can include warning, demotion, suspension, or banishment from the guild. All disciplinary actions are appealalbe by the infracting member, however after the appeal all actions are final.

  1. This is a Relaxed Raiding Guild. Maintaining "Relaxed" is our primary focus. A friendly atmosphere comes before raiding.
  2. Be courteous to all players, regardless if they are fellow guild members, allies, or enemies. Insulting other players (guild member or otherwise) reflects badly upon the guild and will not be tolerated in any form. Respect is earned, courtesy must be given in order to maintain a friendly guild.
  3. All guild members are expected to act mature and adult like. You can be mature and still have fun.
  4. Be cautious with your language. Moderate swearing is fine in guild, group and vent chat, however should be curtailed in public. Also, be mindfull of the ages and temperments of other guild and group members before swearing.
  5. Guild members are to always represent the guild. Professional behavior reflects on the guild, terrible behavior reflects badly and spreads faster.
  6. No Cheating, Hacking, or Exploiting. If anyone is found to be doing any of these three you will be reported to Blizzard and removed from the Guild. No second chance.
  7. Begging will not be tolerated. Just because other players are a higher level than you, does not mean they can always afford to help you. If you need something, kindly ask in guild chat, if someone can help you, they will, if not, do not keep asking.

Discipline

Infractions of the rules will be addressed immediately by an officer. If an officer is present please bring the event to thier attention and provide them with all the information you have (ie screenshots). If an officer is not present please address a guild member privately if you believe them to be in violation of any rules. Do not make a public spectacle. A simple statement or request to a fellow guild member should be sufficient to resolve any differences. If this does not prove sufficient please record all events to present to an officer as soon as one becomes available (ie screenshots).

If a public spectacle is involved, the member will be asked to limit his discussion to tells with the officer / other party. If the disruption continues the member will loose the ability to post on the guild channel. The period of this 'peon'ing' will be set forth at that time and be at the disgression of the officer based upon the severity of the infraction. If the member continues to disrupt the guild by other means, the nature of the infraction will be brought before the Elder Council / Officers to determine demotion / suspension / banishing. Everyone gets upset. We expect our members to be capable of reigning themselves in when asked to do so.

Repeated violations will result in more severe consideration.

Stormfist Raid Rules

  1. Each raid has ONE ( 1 ) leader.
  2. The raid leader is responsible for making all final decisions on all aspects of the raid. Loot, strategy, everything.
  3. Selection of raid members will be at the discretion of the raid leader. For scheduled 'Guild Raids' this will follow the guild rank guidelines with consideration given to what classes / specs are needed. [ MC, BWL, Ony, ZG, AQ20, AQ40 are the present 'Guild Raids' ]
  4. All raid members are expected to have all equipment, consumables, raid significant items, in their inventory and ready to go when invites start. All members will have all equipment fully repaired. Failure to do so may result in not being selected for the raid or removal from the raid.
  5. Persons who are participating in a Stormfist raid for the first or second time are required to pass on all items. If an item is passed by all eligable persons then a first or second time raid participant may then express interest in an item and a second bid will be conducted as needed. This rule does not apply to alts of existing eligible parties, only to persons new to our raids.
  6. Instructions given by the raid leader or his appointed agent are to be followed immediately.
  7. Suggestions for raid tactics / plans shall be communicated to your respective class coordinator and they will pass the suggest / information to the raid leader.
  8. Communication on raid channel / yell / vent will be limited to raid significant content. While the raid leader ( or an appointed agent) is speaking, everyone will remain silent and listen. During an encounter only immediately significant and important information will be stated on /ra, /yell, vent. Feel free to use /g, /say, /w for other purposes. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Continued failure will result in removal from the raid.
  9. Many items will be restricted to specific classes for the purpose of making the raid stronger. At the discretion of the raid leader and officers they can be opened and/or closed depending on the current raid members. Just because an item was open to all classes one raid does NOT mean it will remain that way. If you feel your class should be given priority, please make certain your class coordinator is lobbying for it.
  10. Unannounced AFK's, unresponsiveness, disconnects, and other conditions which mean you are not performing in the raid may result in removal / replacement in the raid at the discretion of the raid leader and needs of the raid.
  11. We understand and appreciate that everyone has their own play styles. While each of us are unique, the design of raid encounters and the level of coordination required means we must all fullfill the role for which we where selected. In extreme cases, you may be asked to respec for the good of raid. In most cases, this is voluntary. In dire cases, the raid leader may require respecs. If required to respec the guild bank will cover half your respec cost.

Inactivity

Any guildmate who is inactive for 30 days or more will be booted from the guild. This includes alts as well. Any guildmate who is taking an extended break WITH the intent to return can notify an officer and the "Retired" rank will be given. A note will be made on the expected return date and if said guildmate does not return within 30 days of that date they will be booted. Any guildmate who is booted due to inactivity will be reinstated upon returning at the recruit rank, skipping the actual recruitment process but not the requirements to move from recruit to warrior and so on.
